I'll be 2 months pregnant this January and I haven't been to Ob-gyne yet (just went to the regular doctor)...When is the best time to be checked/examined? I don't want to be wasting so much money going back and forth.

Sorry but you are gonna be spending alot of money. Try medicaid they pay for everything. I haven't heard once of a pregnant women being turned down either. You have to go every month until you are 28 weeks then every 2 weeks then at 36 weeks every week. You will need at least 2 sonograms. One to tell gestational age and one at 18 to 20 weeks. Best to get it right at 20 weeks. Then if anything goes wrong you might need another. Also you might get a 3rd when you go into labor to check if the baby is turned right and see how far your cervix is effaced. Don't miss any appointments this isn't a waste of money when you think its for yous and your babys health. If you really don't have the money try medicaid theres no shame in sucking it up and doing whats best for your child.

Alot of doctors these days I am hearing aren't even letting pregnant women come in for their monthly preg. visit till they are 3 months. I would definitely call though! Is this your first child? If not, were you considered high risk with the others? If so you need to be seen ASAP!
If health insurance is an issue try going to Planned Parenthood and seeing what they have to offer!
Good luck to you!

Generally an OB would have you go in around your 8th-10th week. Then depending on the circumstances either monthly or weekly.

It sounds as though you don't have medical coverage. If that is the case, you should consult the doctor you've already visited. Very important is to make sure you know how to take care of yourself during your pregnancy. Good luck and congratulations.

I was told to go for a 20 week check up they'll do a pap test and all that, then you'll be fine until the baby is born then it's recommended that you get checked every year.

You should always go to your primary doctor first and then he or she will refer you to a specialist that will be able to assist you with your situation.
