I am a Romanian living in Romania. It's definitely a good place to study medicine in. We have never had episodes of violence toward coloured people. Not that I know of. I agree with Diana that on the whole Romanians are friendly and accomodating.
Oradea and Sibiu do not have established medical schools. Try Bucharest, but also Cluj, Tg.Mures and Timisoara (all reputable medical centers).
Welcome to RO!

I'm Romanian but have been living in Canada since 1994. our university system is well recognized around the world, which has always attracted many international students, so the locals are used to people of diverse backgrounds. although some people may have strong opinions about other races, I think overall you'll find it the Romanians are quite friendly and open minded. I'm originally from Cluj (also a university town in Transilvania) and I'd definitely recommend my home town, Oradea or Sibiu over Bucharest :-) best of luck with your study plans!

I am from Romania, last year I have graduated faculty and I can tell you really don't have to be afraid of this type of problems...there are a lot of coloured students in Romania!!!!...with a little bit of luck you can get married also!!!! :)
I think is better for you to go either to Bucharest either to Timisoara or Cluj and not to Oradea or Sibiu!.....

Any holiday might contain some style of danger, suitable? each and every kind of injuries can ensue everywhere you bypass. however I stay in Romania, i think some are making too large a fuss approximately gipsies. it continually relies upon on how one treats others, presented one has some difficulty-loose experience ... i do no longer comprehend approximately Bulgaria, yet Romania is risk-free, it has perfect geographical area. i might additionally propose traveling Brasov and averting Bucharest. i recently spent 7 months in Germany, case in point, and returning back homestead did no longer make me experience like going back in no guy's land. have relaxing!

I'm asiatic and I stayed in Romania for 8 years. Romanians are very hospitable to foreigners. Please, go and study. It is more safe than in Berlin.
I would recommend you Bucharest. It is more dynamic and European city.
Sibiu and Oradea are for people that are tired of active life.
