If it is a shorter mini-dress type, try some lace- bottomed leggings. Otherwise, try colorful peep- toe wedges, long necklaces, or a cute polka- dot ribbon headband. ( Unless of course it is a different print than polka dot.)

Maybe you should tell us what's wrong with it, that it needs to look better. Or are you asking how to accessorize it? In that case, try large beads and swinging earrings in bright colors, shiny plastic shoes and wide belt, and a bouffant hairstyle.

Alot of 60's and 70's dresses are in at the moment. I would take inspiration from the link i am sending you in this answer, perhaps a dark pair of tights and heels to go with it.

YOu need to tell us what kind of dress. Is it hippy style, Jackie Kennedy style etc. Choker style necklaces, patterned tights, might do the trick.

Well that doesn't really give us a lot of information. If it's patterned, don't wear much with it or you'll over-do it... If it's plain wear something funky and big like beads.

Ooh I wore one out last night. I teamed mine (it's gold) with black tights, grey ankle boots a big sparkly brooch and some big circular teal earrings.
