Well, the eye is never satisfied as we are told in the Bible. There is always something else to want, to desire. It is simply the fact that Satan does have some sway over us and exerts that power over us, to tempt us, to help us do wrongly in many cases.

The above is a large reason that we are told to learn to be happy and content in whatever situation or circumstances we find ourselves in. By doing so, we learn what truely is important and valuable.

Because somewhere in time gone past, the idea of "never settling for what you have, the grass is greener on the other side, etc" was instilled in our brains and has been the driving force in many successes as well as failures. We all just have to remember its not having what you want but wanting what youve got! And quit trying to keep up with the Jones.

Most people think that materialistic things make you happy. They really don't. If you look at some of these rich people that have everything and they are not very happy. The most important things in life should be your family and your health not what kind of car you drive or what kind of house you live in. When we die we cannot take none of that with us. We do have to take how we treated and loved other people. Not all people are materialistic.
