Yes he was a bad man. Everybody knows that.
But will it solve the mess in Iraq? Will it bring his victims back to life? Does it change the fact the Bush administration bungled the whole thing from the start?

Saddam's death will make no difference at all. There will still be fighting and bloodshed in Iraq!

The decision to put the "bad man" to death was that of the people he once tyrannized. Kinda like we do her in the U.S. Its a judicial system that may not be perfect but its in place to prevent, deter, and/or punish crimes. Sooo, bad man commits horrible crimes against humanity, bad man is punished. We (the US) did not put him on trial and decide his punishment. The people of the country he once ruled over did. We just happened to catch the "bad man." Anyway, the question you posed seems to be just another way to bash the Bush administration. Is THAT what you want to talk about?

It makes a big difference. Believe it or not, there were a huge amount of Iraqis that thought Saddam might somehow come back into power.

Doesn't look like that will be the case now does it?

Now, the country can move on and rebuild without even so much as a hint of threat that Saddam will come back.

Bush achieved his goal, that is all that matters. Bush believes that in 1993 Saddam attempted to kill Bush's father and vowed to have revenge on Saddam.

It shows the world that every dog has its day... but at the end... you cannot get away with genocide.

You don't punish people for the sole purpose of punishing them. It is supposed to be a warning to everyone that if you break the law... this is how we will punish you.
