For people who don't have alot of social interaction they sure do have a strong grasp of the world around them. Hell most of them have a stronger sense of reality than socially active people (at least the ones I've meet). Go figure?

Being socially active has its place, but even if it does the fact is it does not do for someone what thinking and studying will do.

Being socially active is a nice thing, and it is something most people like, but it is never a particularly "intellectual" activity (unless someone finds a thinking friend, and the two think together).

Not necessarily. Particularly if someone is lonely out of compulsion. He or she is likely to sulk and brood unhealthy thoughts. Introverts are also lonely. This is a psychological compulsion. They might be entertaining morbid thoughts. Similarly a person who cannot be without anyone around him is emotionally immature. Emotional health or balanced thinking in my opinion comes from balanced behavior. One must mix with people to have a good laugh and also spend time with ones own thoughts.
