to watch what? tv over the holiday season was nothing short of disappointing. when anyone writes to the bbc, their letters are read, then ignored. the license fee goes up virtually every year. all the other channels have adverts, enough time to make a cup of tea or sandwich. and i am fed up with bbc sponging off me, let them stand up and work for themselves, all the other channels are. television license?? a public rip off.

If the license is scrapped the BBC might want to commence to promote its channels contained in the market position its merely over £one hundred a year at present look on the fee of Sky and Virgin.it would want to quickly fee £10 a year for each channel and on suitable of that you may want to lose time with extra classified ads. Then what channel might want to tell the truth about products they promote. No the BBC is powerful fee.

The BBC is probably the best public service broadcaster in the world, and earns the country millions of dollars.
If the programmes were so bad, how come they topped the ratings.
At less than 3 quid a week they are a bargain. Whether you watch the commercials or not you PAY for them in the price added by the manufacturers. Is THAT any less of a rip-off.
P.S. No I do not work for the BBC

Get rid of TV licence
After all in this day in age why should you have to pay for something you dont want or need. I personaly dont watch anything the BBC (Bleeding Bodger Company) has to offer, they have nothing that interests me at all. Either they should start playing commercials (which they already do they advertise the radio times after all and dvd boxsets of their programs) or become a subscription channel. Perhaps then we would get something worthwhile to watch as they will sooon realise nobody watched their channel. Start investing the money in decent programs rather than TV Detector vans.

You need a licence (not a license) to be able to legally receive television transmissions - the channel you watch is of no consequence.
If you think the British Broadcasting Corporation which is generally considered one of the premier broadcasting organisations in the world is not offering you a decent service, stop moaning here and do something about it. Write to The Board of Governors at Broadcasting House London. Write to your MP, local, national papers. Then come back and report your progress.

I'll tell you why the BBC are going down hill
Blair re-classed the licence fee & labelled it a tax. As taxes are allocated & overseen by government, the BBC has lost independence & become accountable to Blair.
A Labour cabinet member now oversees the BBC & rewrote the charter this year.
The old Charter role was to “.Inform & entertain”
It’s now "sustaining citizenship and civil society" based on government civil initiatives
In other words, you and I pay the BBC to present Labour propaganda.

With digital TV coming there's no reason why we shouldn't be able to choose whether or or not to fund the BBC. But then, of course, so many of us would choose not to watch that the BBC would go bust and this government would lose a big part of its propaganda machine.
It's a shame - the BBC used to be a highly respected organisation.

The rich peolpe like the fact that their TV is funded by the poor which pay a poll tax, Rich people are never fined by the licence people because they know they wouldn't win the court case. the poor gulible people that pay the licence mostly watch other channels.
