I believe in a traditional family, as do my parents. In our family we are not allowed to move in with our partners until marriage.
I think there are still families out there who do believe in family traditions but don't always obey it simply because of society today.
But I don't think people would in any way outcast you because of your beliefs.

at the end of the day, times have changed, i mean my great grandmar and grandad were married for nearly 80 years they both died when they were 96 and 97 but in them days divorce was not heard of.

i have been married twice, my 1st husband was a horrible man and i didnt not put up with how he treated me, but if i met my second husband 1st i would have been married now for around 15 years because as you marry some1 you intend to spend the rest of your life with them.

woman nowadays will not put up with some men who think there wives are somethin they can abuse, beat and generally be treated like crap but years ago woman just put up with it.
thats my opinion anyway.

happy new year :-)

refine your question, do you mean is the traditional family unit still important here, or do we still want to do "traditional family" stuff like Christmas dinner?

Something of real value is STILL of value even if many do not value it.
It is a very difficult term to define, though.
