I am trying to convert my music that i downloaded on the internet onto itunes, but every time i try it pops up that i cant because it is 'in protected wma format' How to i get it unprotected so i can have my music on my ipod?

check your windows media player 'rip' settings, and make sure, 'add copy protection' is un-clicked... and rip from your own fave' Cd's

if you are downloading music, then avoid the 'wma' files...

Virus Scan EVERYTHING you download before using

Make an audio CD of the wma's you are wanting to use. Then rip the CD in iTunes to an aac format. It takes a bit of time but it works.

Same thing happened to me. I HAD Napster and tried moving songs from them into my Ipod, but they are protected because Napster music is rented. There's no way to "Unprotect" them as far as I know, because you don't actually own the music untily uo buy it.

download dvd43 from www.dvd43.com although this programme sits in the quick launch area of the desktop and is mainly used to remove copy protection from dvds it also removes or more exactly tells your pc that the files are not copy written

u cant unless you buy it....but download limewire form there you could download mp3s and play them on itunes
