I am a retired Analytical Psychotherapist, and obviously was often asked questions appertaining to this and how to acheive it. The suggestion i often used was to give your self "grace". I do not refer to that in the religious sense of the word, more spiritual. Find yourself a nice quiet space with solitude. Allow your self to just "be" and become devoid of trying to answer questions and find solutions, just clear your mind, and listen to the "still, small voice within".
It`s all in there ! , and has worked for many. Good Luck !

If we are 'wholy' interested in soul and all..we shall not dwell in to the cage of mind and mind frames. Yes mind is the barrier to feel the soul and its peacefulness what we call as the 'blissful' state. Discard mind to taste the sweetness of Soul. And there is no such window for soul from the view of mind. Because mind is a tiny part of whole-soul, and Soul is the beginningless and endless, the vast, the oneness. And the oneness cannot reflect by itself when there is no other entity exists. Expand your consciousness to feel the only One, oneness in your mindless, wordless state!

I think you need to have a heightened sense of awareness to see yourself within, your frame of mind does not matter as much as your thoughts do,so clear your thoughts and meditate, clearing yourself of all distractions, then breathe deeply, allow yourself time to see within, its a journey with no final destination.

I would start with making your heart happy, if the soul exists it will follow your heart to being a genuine, kind, passionate human being.
