My favorite Johnny Depp movie is What's Eating Gilbert Grape. In addition to a great story and fine supporting acting it is the movie that made me think [perhaps errouniously] that Leo Decaprio can actually act.
Benny and June, the Buster Keaton hat trick in the park is amazing.
Ed Wood is also very good!
Edward Scissorhands was good as was Chocolat
But Dead Man and Fear and Loathing were just brilliant films because all the acting was so wonderful. Bentito Del Toro is another incredible actor who I enjoy and I didn't recognize him until 15 minutes into Fear and Loathing!

I agree with the first answerer. Blow and Pirates are probaly his best movies. He really is a great actor. My least fav movie was the secret window. Cause I don't like phsycology movies like that.

I think his character in "Pirates of the Caribbean" gave me the most joy and laughter.
His role in "From Hell" made me the saddest.
And his part in "Sleepy Hallow" I found quite interesting.
Never cared for "Edward Scissorhands".
