I think butch is a lesbian that acts more like a man then another woman does. If I'm incorrect I'm sorry, but that's my theory on it. Try posting this in the lesbian category and make it sound like you really want an honest answer for your personal reference.

butch is the masculine and dyke is the feminine. Both are considered lesbian becasue they are females who prefer the company of other females.
