Depending on where you live Craigslist.com is a great market source and it's FREE! Let me know if you have any questions about using it. There is a section for services and also general items for sale. It's not popular in all areas though. In DC it's huge!
Good luck!

Shipping would likely be prohibitive unless you had a niche market for some kind of high quality firewood or you could mark it WAY up.
There's two kinds of firewood - green, meaning recently cut, that is cheaper but needs to sit at your property and dry out, and "seasoned", which is basically older cut wood, which burns more readily.
Right now, seasoned wood has been going for about $220/cord. I wouldn't want to guess how much it would cost to ship a cord of firewood, but I can't imagine it would be cheap. So, you can mark it up a lot, but it's heavy stuff and probably quite pricey to ship.
In more northern areas, firewood can be found locally. Further south, it might be harder to find, but then again they don't burn as much. I'm not exactly clear where you could find a good market for it.

You could sell it over the Internet if you had local sources to fill the requirement. In other words, you take the orders and dispatch it to locals who can fill the need. In fact, you might even be able to charge the local firewood distributors to be on your distributor's list and then charge a slight premium to the people who order it on-line. I think it's a GREAT idea. I always have trouble finding firewood and wish I could just place the order and find it stacked outside when I get home!!

I've seen it sold in a catalog, I think mcbean or something. You need a gimmick like quick lighting. Most people won't buy it because of the price. I doubt it is cost effective to sell regular firewood over the internet.

I think shipping costs would be horrible. Unless you have a niche market and some highly sought after firewood

I think shipping would be prohibitive. If someone has a local supply source, I predict they will always go there rather than you because of the ship price.

shipping would indeed be prohobitive. But who knows some people with lots of money and fireplaces may just go for it.
