Dont know about the never talked about, but i know the most feared one.
When you are stuck on a ship off of indonesia for six weeks, to combat the boredom most of the crew on board collect all the carboard inners from toilet rolls to make a bug racing course, then go down to the hold and find the biggest cockroaches you can find, bring them back and race for money.
The bug everyone fears is one of the steward's roaches. This beastie's about three inches long and absolutely unbeatable. Or at least it was unbeatable untill it 'accidentally' managed to break out of its ice cream box where the steward had been keeping him safe and sound and unfortunatley got trodden on allowing some of us to start winning our money back.

Boy howdey, I can tell you from personal experience. Its the Mexican crabs. Sailed into the Pacific with'em once. Sure didn't talk about it on board. Found a really quick fix, though. Cockroach spray. Them crabs was dead before I quit screaming.
