Yesterday I got a ticket for having an expired inspection sticker in south Mississippi. I have never had a ticket before and I don't want one now. How do I get out of this?

there is no 'getting out of it'. u most likely knew the sticker was about to expire, but didnt get an inspection done soon enough. if u get an current inspection sticker before court, u might be able to get the fine reduced...but no guarentees on that.

In the state of Mississippi you have 3 additional days to replace your inspection sticker only under these two conditions: 1) The sticker expired during a nationally recognized holiday or weekend, and 2) your vehicle was in a shop for repair when it expired. Other than those two circumstances, you will be tagged with a ticket.

Mine expired in December and because it expired over a weekend, I have until this Thursday to get a new one.

Unless yours also just expired in December, it is likely your ticket will stand. But hey... this is South Mississippi and the "good ole' boy" system is alive and well in this bass ackwards state!!

First get it inspected, but, do go to court over it, tell them that you had forgotten, but, that after you got stopped you took care of it right away. That will buy you some time to save money for the fine and you may get the charge reduced or dismissed. That's the only thing you can do.

Often, if you get the inspection done quickly (within 48 hrs) and take proof to the judge, he will dismiss the ticket, especially if you have an otherwise clean record. I have done this.

Well you just gotta pay it. You can call the court and ask them how much you have to pay and just mail it in, if you dont want to have to go to court. Or you can go to court and try to get out of it but if they find you guilty (which they probably will) then they might make you pay extra fees for pleading not guilty and "wasting the courts time".
If I were you I'd just get a money order and mail it in.

Pay the fine. You already have the ticket, so there is no getting out of it.

Pay the ticket if you had the violation. Sorry.
