I have been spelling it Sarija (sa-ri-ya) but I was wondering if it would be easier with these spelling's:

Sarah, please. I have a 'unique' name with a similar sound, and am #$*! tired of explaining pronunciation and spelling.

Tip: there is no obvious polite way to do that in many situations, and many people, when confronted with a difficult name belonging to somebody they're not going to know well, don't remember or just don't care. If you don't like alternate pronunciations and spellings of the name, and figure your daughter might want a stable identity -- just don't.

Why put this burden on your child? People always asking "how is that pronounced" or else just pronouncing it wrong all the time. People SOMETIMES mispronounce my name, but not often...and it annoys me...how annoying will it be for a child with this name to always have it mispronounced? If you mUST make it a MIDDLE name and give this child an easier to pronounce first name. PLEASE!
