Personally, I don't think anyone has the right to judge others if they choose to have a termination. Myself, I don't agree with it, unless it's for the right reasons. As a few have already mentioned. Sexual Abuse. Yes, ok. Adoption is a possibility. But how would that woman feel, knowing she was carrying around a baby for 9 months, reminding her each day, of what happened to her. It has even happend to young children. They have had their innocence taken away from them. Do they deserve to lose their childhood too? And then there's the total mental torture of giving birth and having the baby given away.

In some brave cases, women choose to keep the baby no matter what. In others, they agree to give baby away and then have to live with 2 awful things.

1) The emotional torture of the attack
2) The emotional torture of giving their baby away

So in these cases, no one has the right to judge. Walk a mile in someone else's shoes before you judge is what I say.

Then of course there's disabilities. Some pregnancies, from the start are abnormal, and some can be determined not to have an active healthy life once born. So it's a case of "being cruel to be kind" sort of thing. That type of termination I agree with.

Other disabilities, where the child could lead a normal life, but with disabilities, affects people differently. Some think they can cope, others can't. Again adoption is a possibility and in this case I think adoption is better than terminating.

Then you have teenagers. If they have openly had consenting sex, and fall pregnant, then I don't agree with terminations. They have lots of options available to them. They have parents to help them, adoption, social services and government. But there are some teenagers and even adults who use terminations as some sort of contraception. Sterilisation is the only way for them I'm afraid! Not only are they abusing their body, but they are abusing the form of mankind! It's wrong.

I personally think that abortion is wrong except in certain situations. Rape being one of them. I was also just recently posed a very difficult question by my 17 year old sister. She ended up getting pregnant with a boy she barely knew. Knowing how immature and irresponsible she was, it was very difficult. Even though I've been opposed to abortion, my first reaction was abortion. I was disturbed by my own thinking. It's a very touchy subject as we all know and it's a very personal decision also. I could never do it though. (By the way, she decided to keep the baby, but miscarried at 3 months. God works in mysterious ways.)

I have 2 kids, andI do not agree with late term abortion for any reason, however... I think alot of people misunderstand that early abortion is usually only cells, not a baby with arms and legs and facial features. You have to consider how many babies are found dead in trash cans and how many are drug addicted, sick, or malnutritioned due to no prenatal care- also, the overwhelming number of children who have no home. Perhaps if a woman has the ability to have the cells removed before they become a baby, she could prevent a child from being born into one of those situations...

Yes of course it's wrong no matter what anyone thinks. It's murder. Just because the baby isn't out for everyone to see doesn't mean it's not a human being. Even in serious cases such as rape, adoption is always an option, but abortion is just totally outta line :)

My Body, My decision. Every woman has the right to choose and wake up because abortion is LEGAL. I have never had an abortion but i would if the following ever happened:

1)Something was bad wrong with the fetus and would just be born to live a horrible, painful life
2)If my life were in danger of carrying the pregnancy
3)If i were raped
4)If i would have gotten pregnant in my teen years (Which i didn't)
5)If i knew i couldn't take care of it then i would just not have it

My choice, no one else's. Why does it bother anyone if a woman/girl gets an abortion? It effects me in no way.

i agree and the only time i can smpatise with a woman is if thier baby has a defect that a) will cause them to die shortly after chilbirth or b) they will b ein constant pain and have no quailty of life or if a woman was raped and got pregnatn.

otherwise no i hate abortions. just because you want to have a career first or it was a mistake doesnt mean to say you can ahve an abortion. you face the consequences of getting pregnant and abortion is not a form of birth control.

i would never ever have an abortion unless one of the reasons above (be a very hard desicion though) and if i ever fell pregnant by mistake i ould have that baby. even if we were struggling for money wasnt the right time to many kids etc etc.

sorry to babble on but i am giving you my opinion

I agree with you, Woman who choose to have an abortion should be punished just like a murderer.

My sister had an abortion in Febuary and its very hard to talk to her knowing that she murdered her own flesh and blood.
She had a choice to keep the baby and have nothing to do with the babies father, but she chose to continue her relationship with her boyfriend over having a child.
(He was 16 and her 18)
Thats no excuse though.

I would have done anything to help her out and she chose not to accept my help.
She has made a choice that I know she will regret for the rest of her life.

I hope that helps your question.

I think that with all the advances in biomedicine and genetics there is an alternative. You know there's people who pay good money so they can have a baby since they have fertility problems. To get viable eggs to fertilize so these people can have babies they get women to donate their eggs since their not going to use them anyways. Sometimes these people can get $1000 per egg. That's basically $12000 a month for doing nothing but ovulating. Now at the same time we have millions of teenagers and women who end up pregnant and don't want to have the baby. Well, couldn't we take the zygote from the pregnant teenager or whatever and transfer it to someone who wants the baby but can't have one naturally? seems like a good idea to me, nice middle ground.

It can't be 100% wrong... Sure you think it's horrible, until it happens to you or someone close to you.

Thing with abortion is that you have to think about yourself and the future child. If you say it's 100% wrong, you probably think about giving your kid to adoption after giving birth, but what if you can't afford to be pregnant? Lots of women have that problem.

I give you some examples: if a girl gets pregnant at 15, it's unsafe for her to give birth. Sure it's her fault but does she really deserve that? What if she was raped? What if you have no security at work but need your job to survive? Would you be willing to have your baby and then be on the street?

Personally, I think there are too much factors to consider to be totally for or totally against abortion. If you have to face it, it will be under specific circumstances. That's why I'm not in favor, but I'm not against abortion either
