how do you pick sweep going up????

im trying to learn a song called "pissing in the mainstream" and i can get the pick sweep down but not back up.....so help me pleaze

practice going through scales using only the 1st, 3rd and 5th notes in the scale. start VERY slowly when you do this, otherwise your sweeps come out really muddy. the idea is hold down only the note that is ringing when the pick makes contact, then muting the note almost exactly as the next note rings. try to do an upstroke sweep motion through the notes in a barre chord, but dont barre it, use individual fingers placed down one at a time. make sure to quiet them as you go. only speed up when the motions become almost second nature to you. good luck!
