When I'm looking at resumes, I look for all the obvious things fist: is it neat and organized, spellchecked, etc. As far as the job portions of it, I look for how long you were at each job to try to get an idea if the person shifts jobs alot. I dont spend a lot of time on resumes though, I focus more on the interview and the person. I can tell you that resumes that are really LONG make me crazy....

Depends on what kind of job you are going for I would think. I'm a manager at a technology company...

First thing is relevant experience - how long, etc.

I look at # jobs in the past and why you left.

If you are a new graduate from college (which you have to be in my field), I look at GPA. Otherwise, not as important as the experience.

If you don't have past experience, I want to know why (normally ask at the interview).
