I've seen several questions you've posted here about this...are you planning to drown someone, or are you afraid you'll drown this New Year's Eve? There's two ways out of it if you're afraid it'll get you: 1) Don't drink. 2) Avoid water if you drink. oh, and 3) Don't P.O. anyone who's likely to drown you!
I've not been in that position, because I practice #1. However, I've been onsite when others have been; it's not pretty, it's not fun, and it's rather painful. And you barf a lot. Nasty. And, if you live, you could be brain-damaged for life, from lack of oxygen. It doesn't take long to start killing brain cells.

If you ALMOST drown you don't need to be resuscitated.
No I have never drowned. There have been people that have drowned out at our lake but they have never found any of them soon enough to even try to resuscitate them.

I haven't, but I have had to jump into the lake to save a friend who thought it would be fun to drink and then swim in the lake, at night. She ended up jumping off the boat and then freaking out, and I had to jump in to help her find her way out.

No but my frien Michael died in a lake a couple summers ago because his leg got wrapped around the rope of a booey. He was the only one who WASNT drunk.

I was belly up under a car when it was pouring passed out drunk, if that counts. :)
