We are the most generous nation on the planet. If we are hated so much, why does every one want to come here and live?

In the news yesterday, Britain made it's last war payment to the US to the tune of $84 million. Did they hate us when we were fighting to keep their butts safe with the blood of our sons, fathers, daughters and mothers?

I still say, if we're hated that much, why do they want to come here and live? Might part of the answer be, a media blitz that's been going on for decades?

Hated? I don't think so. Jealous? Perhaps. Arrogance on their part? Perhaps. When you break it all down, no one can tell me a better place to call home, than the good ole US of A.

Wow, I see a lot of experts around who know what other people in other countries think deep inside.

It might seem like everyone is really Anti-American, but in reality if any other country did the same things as the US has recently done which goes against our morals and sense of rightness, then we would speak up equally, if not even more.

We would happily accept a reborn USA to the fold of the international community, but I feel that for that to happen the government would have to raise itself above the petty squabbling it has been practicing for too long.

Especially since a lot of the people seem to be infected with that same petty squabbling that goes around in the political arena.

I'm sorry, but ENVY is the number one reason some people hate America. Dictators hate America because we stand for freedom and give repressed peoples hope. Poor governments hate America because we are rich. Islamist facists hate us because we stand for religous freedoms and not their idea of religon.

You say "people all over the world hate America", however this is not true....America is the #1 destination for immigrants from all over the world. If they hate us, why are they coming here? What you see and here is almost always government sponsored speech (people in the employ of the gov't to say things while posing as the common everyman) or fanatics.

It basically comes down to the idea of freedom. In America you are free to live your life the way you want too. No one can tell you who to date, hang out with or where to work. Most of the rest of the world that hates us, have all kinds of social rules for that stuff...no freedom.

Different reasons,

-the Middle Easteners because we support Israel

-some Latin Americans because of the U.S. government intervention in their countries' resources and politics

-Brits because they see us as rebels

-French because they say we "stabbed them in the back."

All I have to say is that you can't be a world power and have everybody like you.

I think it has to do with them feeling misunderstood. Too many Americans think our way is the only way.
I do feel it is hatred for our government the most and this has been going on for years. This administration has made it worse, but at least since WWII we haven't been very popular in many parts of the world.

Frankly, I don't care what the rest of the world thinks of us, their judgment and cultures are suspect at best...and many of their societies and traditions are utter filth at worst.
