Has anyone used the Black & Decker Simple Start Battery Booster? I'm thinking of buying one and wonder if it works as easily and as well as they claim. It sounds like a wonderful idea for women traveling alone, in particular, or anyone who doesn't want to mess with booster cables.

yes i have, it works great. i do electronic design, Assembly, and repair, also own my own car repair shop and prior to trying it my only concern was that the current is so high that it might fry the wires of the vehicle accessory outlet (it may damage some old cars if you try and use it on the lighter outlet) , but i was relived that it did not damage the wires on my car.

THE VERY FACT THAT YOU BOUGHT THIS BRAND IS THE PROBLEM. It is cheap and generally unreliable. They buy up seconds and faulty items, refurbish them and sell them under their brand. Another method is to take over a company to cheaply produce a large number of items for them ( bankrupt companies) and then dissolve the company. I have had a few of their crap items in the past, no spares, minimum warranty and faulty workmanship
