Airwolf was more serious and had more substance to it. Blue Thunder was alot lighter (I mean, it had Dana Carvey in it!). I just recently bought both of them on DVD and I would have to say that Airwolf kept my interest better.
Both were classic 80's shows, and it's nostalgic in a way to watch how people acted (and the hair styles, too).
