My super sweet 16, real world, pimp my ride, mtv is barely related to music anymore, i wish there was a sweet channel called mtv that was actually about music, it might actually be entertaining instead of brian numbing

I don't know if you have Optimum/Cablevision, but my family switched to that from DirecTV, and we haven't a single regret. If you look into the 800s, you'll find music channels. And the 180s as well. I mean non-stop music - none of that commercial bullcrap. The only downside is there aren't any videos - at least in the 800s; but they do come equipped with facts, and I'm a sucker for those.
That probably wasn't much help, but yeah, I agree. Everytime I flip through the channels and land on MTV, I never find a show on that's even remotely close to music.

♥ I agree with you. There are a lot of shows on MTV that don't deal with music. I love MTV because of there cool shows. But nothings really about music anymore on that channel

I thought I was the only one who thought this...MTV is total garbage anymore with all the teenie shows. The occasional show like pimp my ride is alright, but when thats all thats on there, I get annoyed. So MTV...YOU SUCK!

I AGREE. MTV is irritating and it is just tv shows about drama. There is MTV2 which shows MOSTLY music videos. Some of my friends get it, and i don't. I don't know how to get it though. And when you get like digital cable or whatever there are LOTS of channels that are ONLY music videos, and there are different types, like only hip hop, only metal, only pop, only rock, whatever.

Hm, good point i was just going to be like no it's workign for them but i dont have that channel , assuming like u said they play tv shows that arn't musical then y is it called MTV, music television, i think that s what it stand for, but anywayz i thihnk it sucks , BET is good

Absoutely. Problem is MTV is a household name. Teenagers identify with it. They let MTV tell them whats "cool". But yes, they have little to do with music anymore.

I agree with you 100%. That station is about everything BUT music, anymore. And when they do show music, it's always the same....rap or pop. They should go back to what got them on the map in the first place.....rock and roll.
