I need to replace the hard disk and assume I need to open the casing. I have removed all screws from the back but will not open?

The laptop hard drive is usually in a small compartment accessable from the front, side, bottom, or under the keyboard. You shouldn't have to take the whole casing apart.

Have a look at the link for some schematics.

Whoa, slow down there. This is a simple repair that is blown out of proportion.

The hard drive is on the left side center of the laptop when you are using it. Flip it over and it will be on the right side. There should be one screw holding a coverplate. Remove the screw and either flip or slide out the hard drive.
