It's just starting on a UK station soon and I was wondering if anyone in America has already seen it and if they thought it was funny.

It is Ok. It is light comedy. I would say it is for ages 14-19. I mean, some parts of the show are really corny. I watch it here and there. The only reason I do is b/c when I graduate, I want to do layout design for print media such as magazines. The only mishap is that it is all fictitious. Nobody in the media industry really acts the way they do. It goes off of stereotypes, for example: everyone is really rude and mean to Betty b/c she wears braces and a Guatemala frock. Everyone of her coworkers are 6 foot blond gorgeous sex-crazed women. It is totally for young girls.

I LOVE Ugly Betty. It was one of the newer TV programs this year that I had not intended to get into - but I saw the first episode and loved it. I think it is worth your time.

Ugly Betty was origanlly aired on Telemundo (the spanish station) as "Betty la Fea" or Betty the Ugly. How i know this - my parents used to watch this show.

I love that show!!! Let me tell you it is inspired in a very good and famous "telenovela" in Latinamerica...it's not a copy, but the name and general plot are the same. It's a great show, watch it I'm sure you'll love it! =)
