i know i have asked this before and sorry for those who answered.

can fertlilty monitors give you a fertile reading if you are pregnant as it picks up the hormones that are present in both ovulation and pregnancy?

its just that i had my period on the 1st of november my monitor gave me a peak and we did the deed at the right time. the day my period was due came and went and after being 14 days late (the 10th dec) i experienced spotting for 4 days which i though was my period. prior to this all tests i did were negative.

i set my monitor to cd1 and i continued using this and ovulation tests. i got a positive on ovulation test on cd5 and since cd8 i have been getting a high reading but no peak. my friend said as i only had spotting and not a proper period i am still on my last cycle and she reckons i'm pregnant and the reason i got a positive ovulation test and high on my monitor is because they detect the same hormones in pregnancy.
what do you all reckon. no smart answers plz

i also had a baby 6 months ago and ever since been trying for another (we want our children close in age and it took nearly a year with our daughter). i know my body inside and out and am doing everything possible to help me get pregnant.

i just want other peoples opinions on it.

also the fertility monitor picks up estrogen and lh. i know that estrogen is present in pregnancy.

ovulation tests can pick up lh in the hcg although this is a tiny amount.

i have done my homework. but i cant find anywhere that tells me if a fertility monitor can give a fertile reading while pg.

No they do not pick up the same hormones. HCG is the preg. hormone. when you are taking a ovulation tester they are picking up a drop in estrogen and a peak in progesterone. You produce a lot of prog. write after you ovulate. I would take your temp for the next 10 days and if it is stays withing a range of 4 tenths of a degree for that period of time you are prob. preg. Or just go have a blood test done; they pick up the HCG hormone better and earlier than a urine test.

yes its true the ovulation test can detect your pregnancy hormones and make it a false reading. Maybe you should go to the dr take a blood test or wait a couple of weeks and try it again. My cousin had the same thing done to her she finally got a positive pg test when she was about a month. so go to the dr. Good luck

okay- fertility monitors are great- yet your body fluids will tell if you are ready or not.
the old fashioned way- no joke- not being gross.

It maybe your ovaries and only one ovulates- they take turns each month you know-right?

Get a ob/gyn anatomy book- know thy body. Each one is totally different.,

Best wishes-

FYI- mine never worked right- I got prego on a negative day- so go figure. expensive lesson!
I took natural female enhancement vitamins and herbs and WOW- I felt the heat wave of it working, designed for fertility.

sweetie, I read something about it on www.peeonastick.com
I think a OPK can show two lines when you are pregnant, but you better read all the info there.
good luck!
