Your timing advance, on a distributor, has vacuum and/or mechanical units. What year car, make, model, etc.

Modern cars have ecu's (computers) that regulate the timing.

I am going to repair mine right now. 1978 chevy nova 6 cyl. The mechanical advance jammed and I am pulling it to repair it.

Or is it a timing machine ???

spidey
