i did gymnastics AND dance for about 8 years strait. but then i decided to drop gymnastics so i could become more serious in dance. i am very happy with doing that. dance is much better than gymnastics.

I personally like dance, I did gymnastics for two years and dance for two years and i found dance to be more relaxing and inspiring-but it also depends on what type of dance you are willing to learn

It depends on what kind of dance and which one you like better. For instance, a difference of those two is that gymnastics is more dangerous and more challenging, and you might break a bone or something, so if you're very brave and challenging, you might want to do that. But dancing (like ballet) isn't really dangerous, but more graceful and artistic for gymnastics. But if you can do both, I suggest you take ballet first, so when you're ready for gymnastics, you'll be more flexible and can learn faster. (Though I'm not suggesting that dancing is better.) Just depends on you. But whatever you do, you have to have fun! ^_^

Gymnastics actually stunts your growth. It makes your muscles so compact that they cant stretch. A friend's cousin was supposed to be 5'5 but she was taking gymastics for so long that she's only 5'2 and done growing.
Dance legnthens your muscles and makes you actually appear(or truthfully become) taller. So dance is much better.

I have two daughters that are both competitive dancers. One in jazz/hip hop, and one is in hip hop/tap and modern.
I like dance because of the artistry, flow, and variety. Dance can tell a story. Dance can inspire. Dance can just be pure joy and fun to watch.
The positive energy my daughters have gotten from their dance experience is something I wouldn't give up for anything.
That's coming from a guy who played college football. Pretty weird, huh?

i would say ballet. because it is the foundation of many dance forms so it will help you in any kind of dance. ballet also helps gymnastics and figure skating. but gymnastics doesnt help you dance.
