i had a hamster about... 5 years ago and she stopped moving one night, because her back legs were paralyzed. we took her to the vet a family friend and she was stumped, she said it MIGHT be cancer but she ddnt know what it was. and this happened suddenly, it ddnt go on for a few days.

Yes, hamsters can get cancer, benign or malignant. It's because of this that hamsters are used in labs for cancer research.

Similarly, I had a pet rat that displayed the same symptoms that you described in your hammi. X-rays revealed it was cancer on the spine. Just like in your case the paralysis was sudden.

Yes hamsters can get cancer. I had one get cancer of his foot. The vet said to just let nature run its course. So we did and he was fine for about 2 months till it had spread and eventually made him have a stroke then a seizure and then he passed away in my dads hands.

yes, hamsters can get cancer.

my cousin hd a sick hamster so they took it to the vet and found out that it had cancer.

ya thy can get cancer thy could be the problem or it may of had a strock paralyzing its lag or a blued clot in the lag well good luck sorry

I think all mammals can get cancer. I had a cat of 18 years who passed on because of it.

I am sure because it is a mammal that there are cells that may be cancerous in the hamster
