Only about 50% of the sunlight is absorbed by Earth's surface. This energy heats the land and water. About 20% is absorbed by gases and particles in the atmosphere. About 30% of the sunlight is reflected back into the air: Of that 30%, 25% is reflected by clouds and dust, while the other 5% is reflected by the surface of Earth. (and even sometimes- the absorbed sunlight energy is radiated back into the air) - DOES THIS HELP?

SO, yes, Sunlight is absorbed, reflected, and even radiated back after it has been absorbed.

Some are reflected back into space (about 30% I think). Rest are absorbed by substances and is converted to heat or used to evaporate water and stuff. Out of all the energy that is absorbed, about 1-3% are used by plants and is converted to chemical energy (food) that is used by the plants themselves, or feed all the living organisms on earth.
