what happen to pru.. i know she died but how
i have been watching reruns and i missed it again..
saw the show that said the end at the end of it.
then a few days later pru was dead..
i have missed it twice i dont want to buy the whole season if i dont have to

She was killed by a demon but there was never an episode showing exactly what happened. This was because the actress quit/got fired suddenly and the writers had to come up with something quick. That used to drive me nuts too trying to catch the actual episode until I found out how it was handled.

At the end of the third season, Shannen Doherty left the show, resulting in her character's death, and in the introduction of Rose McGowan's character Paige. While in the episode, "Death Takes a Halliwell" the Angel of Death foreshadowed Prue's death, "All Hell Breaks Loose" (the season three finale) remained as a cliffhanger, and Prue's death was only established in the season four premiere episode. Fan speculation continues to this day, some pointing to rumors of on-set issues with Doherty regarding punctual appearance at work and tension with co-workers, others putting blame on Alyssa Milano for reasons such as her supposedly asking the show's producers to let Doherty go. These rumors even today lead to harsh debates and flame wars over whether it was Doherty's, Milano's or someone else's "fault" that Doherty left.
Doherty's departure is the best-known change in Charmed, and while there is debate over whether the show got better or worse after Prue's death, it is most often agreed that after season three the characters' dynamics changed, and the individual sisters' storylines became more balanced.
On May 17, 2001, she was killed by Shax, a hired hitman sent by the Source.

The girls were having trouble with their magic and an electric demon. they were also guarding a doctor for reasons they knew not of. An assassin demon named shax was coming after them. They manage to avoid the electric demon when shack attacks throwing Prue and Piper through a was killing them. Phoebe calls out to Leo as she distracts Shax for a moment. Leo revives the girls and the start fighting with Shax. Shax gets outside the house and the girl vanquish him with a power of three spell, only they get caught on camera and suddenly everybody knows who they are. A wannabee witch sneaks into the house trying to get them to teach her but they give her the cold shoulder. The girls come up with an idea to turn back time but the only one they know who knows how to do that is the Tempest and he was vanquished and only serves the source. The thought is maybe a truce would work. That is when the wannabee takes up a rifle and shoots Piper. Leo, Cole and Phoebe are already in the underworld working on the deal so they can't hear prue calling for Leo. She has to get Piper to the hospital but the streets are filled with press police and people. They won't get out of her way so she uses her powers to throw them out of the way. Prue takes Piper to Hospital where the doctor they were protecting is there only he is unable to save Piper. Prue barricades her self in the exam room with Piper as the police are closing in with sniper rifles to kill Prue. Leo is skulking around as Cole and Phoebe are talking the deal with the Source. He wants Phoebe and Cole to stay with him forever. They want Prue and Piper warned about Shax attack. They agree but it is a double cross. The tempest turns back time just as the sniper's bullet is about to strike Prue and everything goes back to right before Shax arrives only Phoebe, Cole and Leo are still in the underground having no idea what has hapened exactly. Shax attacks and the girls call out to Phoebe but she is not there and this time when they are thrown through the wall and killed there is no Phoebe o Leo to save them.
In the the next show you find out Leo got there too late to save bothe Piper and Prue. Prue had left her body completely and Phoebe and Cole had to fight their way out of the underworld to find out what happened. They tried to bring Prue back but she was not allowed to talk with them and instead of getting one lost sister they found another lost sister, Paige. I always thought Prue would be the angel of death but that never happened. Oh well, that is how she died.

A demon killed her. I might have this wrong but I remember that this demon came and they were caught "vanquishing" him on video and then everyone found out they were witches so they found a way to turn back time. When they did the demon attacked them and Leo couldn't heal Prue.

It was good that she died.
It paved the way for the more fun and attractive Rose McGowan to take over.
