Hi, here's a short and sweet book review done by a middle-schooler...

"The book has a lot of drama in it, and details that girls would really enjoy. The 4 girls split when it comes to competition. The 2 girls, Alicia and Olivia won the uniform contest at the school, so they went to get their picture taken. The girls were so pretty; the lady asked them to be models. The 2 other girls, Massie and Claire didn't win. Although they did send their pictures to he modeling agency, and the lady accepted them too.

In the Clique Series, Revenge of the Wannabes, there is a girl named Massie and she is the leader of this group with all her friends Alicia, Dylan, and Kristen. But there is a girl named Claire and she really wants to be in with them considering she lives in Massie's guest house. But when Massie finds out that her friend Alicia is planning something bad against Massie, she gets really mad. Dylan and Kristen are torn between friendship and Claire hopes she can just get into the group with all this commotion. I think this book was interesting because all these things happen to girls just like me and all my friends and I thought it was cool seeing how people deal with things like being kicked out of your group.

I would recommend reading the first 2 books before you read this one: The Clique, and Friends For Never."

Here are some assorted comments some middle schoolers made about this book...

"The story takes lots of unexpected twists and turns! I liked how it shows how girls in middle school really really are a bit nasty."

"The book reveals how popular girls are. It shows the true life of the girls. People can relate."

"Some of the characters were too mean to others. It made me feel sorry for them."

"I like how when you start reading it you dont want to stop because to much is going on that you want to know what is happening. I like how the author writes the book as if you were they when it happened."

"One interesting thing about the book is that some of the girls dance and that's really cool!!! I liked the book because you learn don't be mean."

"I loved the book because it has a girl stuff that fits my grade and me. For example, the 4 girls in it wear designer clothes, always have fights and drama, and also there are boys in it. There are 4 girls in the book and i have 4 best friends so it is similar because it ties in with myself."

"The way they describe plastic people is really true. They show how many of the girls today just want to be popular. It described the necesity of being accepted in todays society."

Revenge of the Wannabees is basically self-explanitory. It is about when Alicia gets tired of Massie's rule and decides to start her own clique. The new clique's ruler is Alicia, of course, then Olivia, a dumb blonde with a fake nose job, who is directly under Alicia in terms of power, and the rest of the members are Strawberry, a girl with pink hair, the only girl brave enough to dye it a color not found in nature at OCD, and Moose. Alicia, Olivia, Strawberry, and Moose all go to the same swimming lessons. It is not the same as Invasion of the Boys Snatchers, Revenge of the Wannabees is the third in the series, while Invasion of the Boy Snatchers is numer four. All of them in the series are really good, and Revenge of the Wannabees is worth the money. Happy Reading!
