Because He is a human being like US Regardless of what he did.I believe in the spirit of forgiveness. Not an eye for an eye. That what many of us lack. Peace to the world. That not going to happen. As I'm typing right now, more people are being blown up. YEAH peace indeed. While he was on trial, did the situation change? Are the corpses of the dead ones gonna come back? It's not going to change anything. Many Iraqi's are gonna die along not us in the west. Suicide bombers and loyalist are going to revenge killing scores of people . So what's the point? Why must more people die because of this man? NOBODY ! NOBODY should be treated (dehumanized by hanging)like that for whatsoever reason. LET GOD BE THE JUDGE

You might not be "sad" about it, just your conflicted. I am always sad to hear someone died, and I thank God above for not placing the judgeign on my shoulders, but in this case I think maybe what saddens you is the fact that is was a human being at the end of that rope. A human life is valuable, and you recognize that, however I think perhaps by the way you write you were saddened more by the publics reaction. I was shocked (in a sence) at the way people danced around his body, at the celebrations over another human being dying. I think the dealth penelty was justified, and saddly I think it was softer than it should have been considering the brutality that he delt his victums, however being a GOOD person your heart feels the saddness of a human life, aside from who he was or what he did. Your not bad or wrong in your saddness, your just big hearted.
isaacj100 How can you not believe in "eye for an eye" and end your speech with "Let God be the judge?" Did you not read your Bible you know the part that says "EYE FOR AN EYE". If you believe in God and the word of God, then you cant take parts out that don't suit you and leave in the rest.

Death is sad no matter what the case. But sometimes it is necessary. If you had a rabid dog that was in danger of attacking your children, would you try to befriend it?
The last days of Saddams life were just for show. His letter to his people. The tender grandfather look, and even at times the soft voice. It can be fooling. But you have to keep in mind why he is there, and why it must be done.

It change into unfair, so its saddening. If Saddam deserved the inability of life penalty, then so does very nearly each president that has led our usa. the massive difference between terrorism and "freedom-fighter" is attitude.

Maybe because you are being true to your human emotions. After all, no matter what was claimed against him, he was somebody's father, brother, uncle, cousin, son, leader etc etc.
He was still a human being and NO human being deserves death at the hands of another.

yep, prison would have been better.. I could not agree more with the person saying, that no man has the power to take another man's life. No matter how evil.. It is barbarian, and nobody likes to be confronted with the barbarian side of us humans..

Saddam was indeniably a tyrant in his youth and in his last days (they hung him to death at 69 years old)
You're just feeling compassionate for him. I'll admit he strikes a pitiful figure in his last days.

i'm so with you and i really feel bad that hes dead. he should be dead for his actions, but he just looked so much like a sad old man and that made me sad. that guy was evil. i can just imagine him sitting there waiting to die, that would be so terrieble. i hate death. he really does deserve to die though (i have to remind myself of this constantly)

I feel sad too. He has a family after all. Life imprisonment would have been better in my opinion.
