is death a suitable penalty for a mass murderer? It seems too easy. Or is this more to do with putting the iraqi peoples minds' at rest knowing that he is gone for good?

Whether or not the decision to hang SH is now irrelevant.

The man was hanged for ordering the deaths of 148 people.

The leaders of the USA and UK ordered the invasion to overthrow SH. Since then how many servicemen and women from both countries have died? Who will be held to account for this as it was not a legal invasion in the first place?

Who is going to be held responsible for all the Iraqi people who have died in the last three years?

Just a thought. Soap Box is now away.

If you want to see the world wide opinion on this subject have a look at www.bbc.co.uk and look on the forum. I personally think it was a silly thing to do. Right on top of new year, when people will be in Trafalgar square celebrating. I am just waiting for a terrorist attack. I just can not believe that they executed him over Christmas and the Muslim holy period. I think the government and the us will have a lot of blood on their hands.

i personally think its to put the iraqi ppls mind at rest and also cos they think its a suitable punishment.

i disagree that it is suitable though, only unwise people believe that murder is ok. he was murdered in my opinion. no human has the right to take life, no law can make murder ok or right.

He is a human being like US Regardless of what he did.I believe in the spirit of forgiveness. Peace to the world. That not going to happen. As I'm typing right now, more people are being blown up. YEAH peace indeed. While he was on trial, did the situation change? Are the corpses of the dead ones gonna come back? It's not going to change anything. Many Iraqi's are gonna die along not us in the west. Suicide bombers and loyalist are going to revenge killing scores of people . So what's the point? Why must more people die because of this man? NOBODY ! NOBODY should be treated (dehumanized by hanging)like that for whatsoever reason. LET GOD BE THE JUDGE

Is was not the right thing to do. No matter how evil he was and how many crimes he committed, a death penalty goes against the human rights.

It might be worth reminding a few people that this person is responsible for the death of hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people including the murder and gassing of little children and babies. What is 'good enough' for him?

yes. but i agree with the rest of ya'll HE SHOULD ROT IN JAIL AND EVEN IF HE IS DEAD BY THEN HE SHOULD ROT UNTIL THE JAIL ROTS AND FALLS DOWN ON HIS SORRY BODY. same with Bin Laden. they should hang him too. and to the girls that think killing him was wrong... do you even know what he did? are you mentally retarded or something? huh!?! well you need to be back in school that's for sure.

2006-12-30 05:13:25 · answer #9 · answered by Anonymous · 0 1

No. I think that killing him was wrong. They're letting him off easy. If he dies than that's the end of it. If I had any control over anything I would have let him live and rot in jail for the rest of his life.

Besides...The US government shouldn't have any right to kill him. They're punishing him because he killed someone by killing him. That's not right. Killing is killing. No matter the reason, no one should kill.
