What a good idea! Ban them. And whilst doing that, why not ban skateboards and bikes too as they can also be used as items of amusement which could possibly hurt others. And lego too, ban that in case a child throws a lego brick at someone. What else can we ban. Maybe balls, footballs and cricket balls. Yes, ban those too. Children, why not just ban them from appearing in public? Simple eh, that would solve all of your problems wouldn't it?

The trick here I believe is to try and get kids to use these things responsibly, but if you think back to your childhood can you say you never acted in a way that caused consternation to someone older than you?

Saw them in the market for the first time, and said to partner, how dangerous they looked. How do they stop when going down a incline, without either falling backwards, or falling forwards, because of the dead stop motion from speeding. Imagine my shock horror, when found they had bought a pair for my niece. Yes even Rollerblades and the rest are dangerous, and should be banned to certain places, where they could do no harm, only to themselves or others doing same. I for one do not want to be knocked over by over zealous children, shooting around our bodies.

Today being New Years Eve, Just had phone conversation, to the effect my NIECE has fallen over and BROKEN HER WRIST. Now don`t that tell you how dangerous they can be??

I bought some for my kids, for Christmas, because that's what they wanted. But I'm afraid to let them out in town with them. Because of the bad publicity they've had. They're called Healies, I promised I'll get them some roller blades instead. They can use the Healies indoors at least until they get used to them.
Happy new year.

my kids had them a few years ago and they were no more dangerous than skateboards. I made them wear the kneepads elbow pads and helmets though . It's like all kids fads though mine used them for a few weeks and then they got thrown in the back of the shed. Should have put them on ebay but i threw them in the skip then it started on about them in the shops and tv

If they're not used properly, they can be dangerous (Today, saw a kid slip up after a while of riding on them while holding their dad;'s hand).

However, some insane part of me wants a pair!

i'm bored stiff with young ones in supermarkets comprehensive quit. the father and mom seem to have not any administration and make no attempt to regulate them the two. No attention for different human beings in any respect. nonetheless, with any success they're going to all spoil their little necks which will desire to unravel the concern.
