The days of easy answers are gone!

"Page not responding" is most often caused by some problem at the page's web site, and there are many many reasons why a web site isn't responding. For instance the site's server may be overloaded with requests, or its networking may be overloaded. Or there could be bugs in the web application.

Don't assume that you need to spend money on your PC. But another thing to consider is how often you get that message. Do you get it with all web sites or with just a few?

Another thing to consider is the browser you are using and its version. I use three different browsers. Sometimes IE fails and Firefox works. Sometimes Firefox fails and AOL works.

Try cleaning up your hard drive and stop loading programs on boot up that you don't need loaded. Also make sure that you don't have any viruses or spyware on your computer. If you have any programs that you never use, uninstall them and that will give you more space.
