It depends on what you have already had (for example, Hep A and Hep B are recommended, but you may already have those vaccines). The only one that I didn't already have from traveling to other countries is the Typhoid vaccine, which is helpful, but not a guarantee against getting ill.

Here is the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's list of recommended vaccines (depending on your travel situation) for Egypt:

Ignore the long, negative tirade from another poster. I spent 3 months in Egypt and was never physically threatened by anyone. Turn down offers to sell you things politely (but firmly) if you don't want them and you'll be fine. I don't see how you could be threatened at the pyramids of Giza with the thousands of tourists swarming the place at all times. I just returned from such a trip in October. NO, you do NOT NEED vaccinations, however I would recommend a typhoid one. Either way the only thing I would recommend is to take some antibacterial cleanser with you. The kind you would use if you couldn't wash your hands and use it often and everytime you handle the money. They will advise you not to drink the tap water, and I would adhere to that as much as possible, although I ran out of bottled water and did venture a few small swallows of the tap water on the ship and I didn't die :).
Enjoy your trip.

Well I had jabs when I went but that was a few years ago now so maybe things have changed but I needed a certificate to show I'd had them - I think you can check with your tour operator, doctor or foreign office (they have helpdesks for these things) - ps I loved Egypt, the people were lovely, one of the best holidays I ever had.

No. Egypt is modern and clean. If you worry, get vacinated anyways.
