Right now it's ex-pres. Gerald Ford. The list of all the good things he is supposed to have done has grown exponentially. When the man was mostly known for being a klutz and mistreating his dogs as in picking him up by the ears. And now two funerals before the interment? C'mon.

Some of you didn't get it, did you? I wasn't attacking Ford - it was the way the media presented him - overshadowing anything good that he did.
dharma - I think in Law Enforcement [are you the warden *snicker*] - if you are in the police end of it, you should know that a person has a right to a trial - by 12 jurists.
christysp... - I've been around for 71 years LITTLE BOY.
darkboy - I should respect the office of the president - was that before or after Bush got in - TWICE.

That's the way life is. I remember at my Grandmother's funeral the preacher had never met her yet she gave my Grandmother all this wonderful praise but in the actual world of reality she was just not a pleasant person to be around and did many despicable things.

People tend to think only of the good aspects of a person after they die. They forget all the bad. - same thing happens when a relationship ends. You tend to think of the good times with the person and forget about the bad that made your relationship end in the first place.

Do you disrespect all dead people? This man did something none of us will probably ever do. He was the leader of a world power. This man had the power of millions of people behind him. Everyone has their idiosyncracies. You don't need to respect the man himself, but when it comes to the position he attained you respect that. I don't personally like Bill Clinton but he was a president and I respect that. Hope you **** off the wrong people in real life.

I'm surprised the media isn't portraying Saddam as a super nice fella right now...the media seems to like talking dirt on a person when their alive...but when they die the media starts with this "wasn't he or she a great person". It kinda gives me a cramp.

Too bad they did not give you a violation!

I am in Law Enforcement and anyone who disregards a President living or dead is sent to the FBI immediately. You must have a really cold heart!!!

It's just that he's "dead". It's nicer to both him and ourselves to remember the good things about him, instead of the bad things.
