Yes, it kills afterword and will get infected easily. I suggest to not get it done because I ended up taking it out (for me it wasn't worth it), but if you live someplace that is warm all year long, it could work...

I got mine done six years ago and it did not hurt that much at all. Make sure you go to a place that specializes in piercing, not a place that does tattoos and piercing. Also make sure that everything they use is is sterile and that they are regularly inspected by your state's department of health.
Take a deep breath when they are getting ready to pierce and make sure you are relaxed. Follow the directions they give you such as washing it with a fragrance-free anti-bacterial cleanser and soaking it with sea salt. I did these things and mine healed quickly and I haven't had any complications.

It hurts later when you catch it on your pants or the carpet or a blanket or while hugging someone. Pretty much anytime.
My wife messed her's up while wearing a backpack with the waist strap. It broke the ring and a doc had to remove the pieces.

IT DOES NOT HURT! It feels like a tug, kind of like a pop. Keep it clean dont play with it. Let it heal and you will be good to go. If you play with it it gets infected then it hurts then you take it out and then you have to have it redone..like me. But it doesnt hurt at all.

okay, to all of the people who keep saying its gonna kill, shuttup!. you dont know what your talking about and probably have never had it done... cause honestly it really doesnt hurt that bad. and im about the biggest wuss youll ever meet when it comes to needless. the clamp they put on hurts more than the needle... the needle just feels weird... and trust me its worth it anywayss.
i got it done 5 days ago and passed out about 4 times even though i was laying down (i dont do well with blood and needles.. i got my 2nd wholes in my ears peirced in 4th grade and passed out too. so i pretty much knew what was coming)
but really, it doesnt hurt as bad as you think it wwill.. and mine didnt bleed at all.

My sister-in-law went with a bunch of friends and said she never would've had it done had she not gone first. She said it was very painful and was a perpetual infection the entire time she left the jewelery in. She said to tell anyone who thinks they want it done not to do it.

You could go to the Bethesda Navel Hospital in Maryland if it hurt. Or find someone to kiss it and make it better.
