Actually, you shouldn't use quotes and proverbs in a statement of purpose or personal statement. The word limit is too small to waste time by expressing the words and ideas of others.

"Total development of students morally,physically and intellectually for the good of humanity." then you go on to state your short term and long term goals on how to achieve these.
You should remember to focus on the person's (student's) total facets, not only his knowledge acquisition or intellect but all factors that contributes towards a his total well being.
