Okay, I'd like to take stab at this one:

Which of the following is a spontaneous process?
Assuming we're using pure H20, the freezing point is 0 degrees and boiling point is 100 degrees celcius. Thus at -24 degree, water should freeze. My reasoning for C) freezing of water @ - 24c

Which of the following correctly represents an exothermic reaction?
Exothermic reactions are characterized by release of energy in the form of heat. Assuming "triangle" means delta and "H" is Enthalpy, the change is a loss in the heat which should result in a) triangle H < 0

pure water freezes spontaneously at temperatures below 0 C
pure water melts spontaneously at temperatures above 0 C

For a reaction to be exothermic there must be a net loss of heat energy producing a delta (triangle) H that is negative.

Q1: the answer is C because is it the only set of conditions in which the process can occur without using or needing heat

Q2: the answer is A because in principle a reaction is exothermic only when deltaH is negative (or <0)
