We, the human race, need a social life because we are natural pack animals (beings). Religion, countries, states, cities, provinces, tribes, clans, groups..the list goes on...are just a few examples of modern/ancient human life. A community "ideally "
should be a self-help organistion of solidarity! LMAO
The effects of not having a social life would infinitely lead to separatism, which then again would supposedly lead to a new social life under the separatists, as they have the same beliefs.

For an individual, I believe not having a social life must be truly boring and would probably lead to him/her living as a hermit, of which there are plenty of today all over the world.

People who have no social life also have a tendence to become either associal or dissocial(criminal), and this would of course cause a massive increase in crime and corruption. We just have to look around today where we live, and read the news...enough said!

Remember, no social life is better as a social life shared with coke/crack freaks and other grade A druggies! (Just thought I would add this, as they are present everywhere).

Good question, hope my thoughts help you! Cheers

Because we are sociable animals by nature, whether we like it or not. There may be a few exceptions, but most people would hate to be alone permanently. This is why solitary confinement is used as a punishment.

In the USA, they have a few Level 6 prisons, where people are placed into solitary confinement for 40 years or even whole of life. One of these is at Marion, Illinois and there's at least one other down south.

Because all living beings are living together as a group in their social lives. A particular type of Birds do live with the same type of birds..and particular animals with animals and so on. Even men of languages, races, religions, regions determine their social group. It is only for the sake of security to one another. And it will exist forever until the difference in colour, language, religion, topography etc., exist!

social lives (friends) are required when the emotional support provided by your family, your significant other, your religion, and/or your self-esteem is not great enough.

when all your emotional supports dissolve away there is nothing left to support the daily stresses of life, eventually leading to an emotional breakdown.

you don' t need a social life if you have enough support from the other areas i mentioned above.

You always need a shoulder to lean on; life's too cruel to go through all by yourself.
I'm telling you this despite the fact that I haven't a social life myself.

You can become depressed, mentally physically ill. Freinds and being social keep us grounded, they keep us open to lifes possibilities and keep us from doing stupid things, or they motivate us to do some crazy things. Live life to the fullest. You never know what you might miss.
