Why did my save file for a PS2 game become corrupted?

When I go to the memory card, it says that the save file for that game is "Corrupted." Why is this?

could be any number of things that happened durin the last time you saved, the card could of been loose, the controller got unplugged, the power went out

That occurred to me. no remember if it is truthfully needed which you retrieve the record then i can't help you. All i will say is while it occurred to me I had to delete the corrupt record and start up returned. Harsh, i know! desire this facilitates :) |_@//
