i have read a lot of good anwsers to your question but some of them sound scarry when they talk about preterm labor but you are in your 38th week so something that may help with that fear is that i just had a baby he was due on dec 25 but was born on nov. 30 i was only 36 weeks and he was perfect. i had problems with UTIs the whole pregnancy along with other problems that put me on bed rest but if the pain goes to your stomac in the area of the baby call your doctor. count the babys movement your should have at least 10 consecutive movement in a hr. dont hold pee thats hard to do even without a UTI but good luck!

very normal it is called cystitis. watch the clots that pass though if they are very large get in touch with the dr. again. meds should work by 3 days. when you are pregnant there is so much pressure on the bladder and because you are peeing more often it opens up for more infections. remember to wipe front to back not the other way around because you spread bacteria when you wipe back to front. also try to drink cranberry juice everyday just about 6 oz. cranberry juice creates a sterile field and kills bacteria. good luck~

Please go see your doctor ASAP. Infections can lead to complications with your fetus and may even cause premature labor. An untreated urinary tract infection can also lead to a kidney infection and harm to the baby. If you are on antibiotics and not getting better after 3 days, most likely the bacteria is resistant to this antibiotic and you need to be on a different one. Passing blood in your urine during a UTI is quite common. Please make sure, though, that the blood is not from your vagina, as this could be a dangerous sign re: your pregnancy.

I've had a lot of UTI's in my life-(I'm only 31 though) I'm just prone to getting them.
You said you passed a clot through your urine? This would be VERY painful since your urethra is VERY narrow. I passed a 'stone' several years ago and I thought I was going to die, (seriously) yet I never saw anything. The doctor said that a stone could be the size of a grain of sand and it be very painful. Since your preg. I would call your doctor. You could have passed your "plug" (bloody show) where you're getting ready to deliver. (it's a mucus 'plug' that protects the womb/fetus during pregnancy. Most women pass theirs while going to the bathroom. It's very common)
To be on the safe side, just give them a call. They want to know everything that's happening- just in case :o)
Good luck!

Call your doctor. Anytime you're pregnant and see blood let them know. They will tell you if there's a cause for concern.
Find some cranberry juice not cranberry juice cocktail (not enough of the cranberry juice in it to be effective) or get some dried cranberries to eat and drink plenty of water. That will help keep the infections away.

Eveyrone's suggestions here are good. I had the same experience. My infection was so out of control though, the first anti-biotic I took calmed things down. Because you are pregnant, I would still talk to your doc. Like was suggested, the cranberry juice is a miracle drug over the counter. It does work. Good luck.
