It's tough to judge this situation. I've not lost anyone to his horrid ways. I'm not Iraqi, so I can't say whether or not he got what he deserved.

As a believer in Human Rights I'm on the fence. I don't believe that death by hanging is right, but I do believe in the Death Penalty. I also believe that genocide is wrong and should warrant the DP.

The way I see it, it is what it is.

What punishment did he deserve? Full pension in seniors' home? Putting him into a cage until his last day/ A blue collar prison where he watches TV every day and is fed by cakes? Releasing him after he expressed his sorry?

Execution is a cruel punishment. We can argue whether anybody should be executed. But if anybody deserves this fate than a mass murderer, responsible for ten thousands or more victims, is a good candidate

Hanging someone is inhumane. That not going to happen. As i'm typing right now, more people are being blown up. YEAH peace indeed. While he was on trial, did the situation change? Are the corpses of the dead ones gonna come back? It's not going to change anything. Many Iraqi's are gonna die along not us in the west. Suicide bombers and loyalist are going to revenge killing scores of people . So what's the point? Why must more people die because of this man? NOBODY ! NOBODY should be treated (dehumanized by hanging)like that for whatsoever reason. LET GOD BE THE JUDGE

No, he should have had to watch the others to hang before him.
Different countries have different laws no matter what century it is.
I really don't know how he could stand himself. He did not offer no fair trials, just had people handcuffed and threw off high buildings or had a bomb strapped to them and blown up. I'm sure the people of the country that he had killed by a deadly poisen would agree with you.
If it was up to me, I would have handed him over to their families and let them deal out his justice.

No. I have always believed that the death penalty was too "easy" on those who have killed others. My idea of punishment would be to have them in solitary confinement until the day they die and make them watch constant feeds of home movies of their victims. They could sit for hours and watch their victims at their children's birthday parties, weddings, family holidays etc.. That way they could be constantly reminded that they had taken another human being's life. But then again - that would be judged by some as being "cruel and unusual punishment".

♥ Wow there are a lot of questions about him today. Personally I think he got what he deserved. But in my heart I still think that they shouldn't have hung him. Why did they wait all this time to hang him. I agree with you that he did do good things for his country. It is so sad. I hope he had a good life

I saw this 16 years ago when the same people shot Ceausescu (the Romanian communist leader) on Christmas day....16 years later it happens in Irak...Why did they have to make that trial? It was only a facade, the outcome was obvious. At least they could have executed him in a more "civilized" manner using a lethal injection. Anyway it was not the Irakians who killed him, others were behind, we all know who....yes he did good things also, but u know...one mistake can bring u down...sadly he was killed like in the middle ages!

He did very terrible things to other people that can not be reversed. How do you account for that behavior, even if he was good here or there? Would you appreciate him for some good things he did if he killed your whole family? I don't think so. He got what he deserved, an eye for an eye, as they say.

I respect your opinion, But he took the lives of many people for his own pleasure. Put it this way a man doesn't become a dictator to be a nice guy if he snuffed out the life of a person you loved your opinion would differ.
