I believe that god is the original boogyman Because In the older testaments he was a mean and spiteful god who created plagues and stuff... Im scared of god for real I mean If he is real then he holds my eternal damnasion in the palm of his hands I swear I have to look under my bed for god every night before I go to bed and sometimes turn my nightlight on and check my closets

God was NOT the original boogeyman. Evil is the original boogeyman, or rather, another name for it. I think anyone who would say something like this is crazy. No, the origin of religion isn't the boogeyman. People like you hurt me.
Besides, God is not evil, but a kind and loving Father. He would be very angry if he knew you wrote this kind of crap about him. Repent, and He shall forgive you without question.

No, But Zeus is…
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. Rev. 13:18 In Revelation 14:11 the mark is referred to "the mark of his NAME". In Revelation 13:17, 15:2 it's called "the number of his NAME". So the "mark" and "number" refer to his "name".
Scripture states the number of his name plainly so none will miss it: 666. When the time comes for this prophecy to be fulfilled, the meaning of this name will be completely plain to the wise.
Babel… Now various groups were given a piece of the puzzle, but since they could not communicate with one another the answer could not be found, In order to complete the puzzle you must first learn to bridge the Babel.
We can find original text written in Greek, Latin as well as Hebrew. The Greek alphabet was assigned numerical values (The X gives the Z sound of Xylophone) X (=Chi) 600; Xi (shaped like a curled capital E) 60 and S (Sigma) 6. (Although Sigma is no longer used, it was) Thus 600, 60 and 6 spells XES, the Greek spelling for Zeus. In the KJV translation - where the name of the prophet Elisha (meaning 'My God is Saviour') has been retained in the paganised form 'Eliseus' (My god is Zeus). In similar fashion, the Name of the Hebrew Messiah YAHU'SHUAH (meaning 'YAHU is Saviour') has been paganised to read 'JeZeus', ('God is Zeus') which later became 'Jesus' in the English language (pronounced 'Jezus').
600 (X), 60 (Xi,=E), 6 (S) the number of his name, clearly spells XES the original Greek spelling for ZEUS.

OMG this is a great question and I think you're right. Or maybe partially right. The whole concept of god was created to answer life's big questions, why are we here; where do we go when we die; what's good and what's bad. I think the dark and brooding gods, the fire and brimstone gods -- wrath and might archetypes all stem from the same stuff as the boogieman and Krampus, Ruprecht, "El Cucuy" or "La mano peluda" -- it's all the same thing.

i dont think god is the original boogeyman. i think the boogeyman is the opposite of santa clause and the toothfairy. parents who use the boogeyman approach are usually the real boogeymen.

No the really first boogeyman was Satan and his fallen angels. For only the fallen angels are the real demons of this earth.......... Also bad spirits (Boogeyman) were only used in Pagan rituals. And that is how the boogeyman tradition really got started............
