Yes. Maybe they are about to break up with their girlfriend. You will never know unless you ask them. Get over your inhibitions and just do it. Then you'll know for sure.

Yes, they can like you.
They just shouldn't engage in a relationship with you while they are still seeing someone else.
There is a thing called courtly love.
It's where you have genuine affection and attraction for someone and it is recognized and acknowledged but not acted upon because one or both of you are already taken.
The other option is for that other somebody to make a choice.
You can't have your cake and eat it too.
This person should not keep you on a string nor should you allow yourself to be kept on a string.
If you can accept the fact that the two of you will not be together and still be friends then bless you both.
But if you're just sitting around pining away for this person you are only hurting yourself.
Assess yourself, this person and your true feelings carefully and decide which scenario you can live with.
You control your own happiness.

When I was a young child I had lots of toys.
I liked them all.
I did have a favorite of course.
But, as time went by, a new toy became my favorite.
Later still, I found another, and another....
But now I've discovered that, unlike toys, people have feelings.
So I save my own special feelings for just one person.
I still like people. But there is one special person who knows she is far above all the others.
She knows she is loved. And I know that I love her.

Yeah, my husband liked me when he was with someone else. He broke it off with her after he found out his real feelings for me and we were married a few days after. Fate truly put us together because of what we wanted in a relationship. We're both tauruses (my b-day is a day before his in May); we've been growing stronger and stronger ever since four years ago.
BTW: As long as he isn't married, you have nothing to worry about. I hope fate favors you.

You can't help how you feel about people. However, you can help the fact that you are dating someone while having feelings for someone else. This is cheating, it is not physically cheating, but it is emotionally cheating and it is wrong. If you do not want to be with someone, leave them. My advice to you (or whoever it is) would be to break up with the girlfriend. It is not fair to her to be with someone who doesn't want to be with her and may or may not cheat.

Just don't expect it to be out for a while.=) cheers&luck mate. Cheers&luck.

Yes. People can still having feelings for someone else even while they are with someone. You can't help it when you have feelings for another person.

There are no rules when it comes to things like this. I like vegetables but dislike asparagus. How many nickels are in a pint?

There's nothing wrong with liking someone...heck...I like my dog. Some people get like and love mixed up. I think to like someone you think there an OK person...But to love someone, you can't stop thinking about them. (that's just my view )
