Hello , I have a 1996 Nissan pickup , it is having a problem with the ODB II computer check coming up with monitors being set incomplete , california smog check allows 2 and I have 3 that are incomplete.

The Drive cycle that nissan states is BRUTAL to say the least , I could care less about 2 of the 3 sensors, I have tried all of the sequences in the drive cycle but the monitors are still incomplete. How exact do you have to follow nissan's drive cycle and is there a good way to just get one monitor to set?

I hope somone has a solution because it may take me until the end of time to correctly perform a drive cycle for this particular truck :)

The tech. should tell you which monitors are not complete. I would ignore the drive cycle and try the following. Not all tests run every time the ngine is started and driven as the catylitic and evap.monitors. they only run under certain conditions. Getting the cat. monitor to run may require driving for anumber of miles under various speeds and loads. The evap. monitor won't run unless the vehicle has sat overnight and the fuel tank is between 1\4 and 3/4 full. It also may not run in extremely hot or cold weather. .These may be your problem
