Because the possibilities are endless.
Because it is human nature to keep hope alive.
It must be part of our genetic programming to just keep plugging away.
Some of us throw in the towel sometimes and I understand that sometimes the pain is just too great.
But most of the time, most of us find the strength to carry on.
What you don't know is it might be just to see your smiling face.
We never know what impact we have on the lives of other people and how some little thing we do makes someone else's life a little better. Just by being around.

“You know, by the time you reach my age, you've made plenty of mistakes if you've lived your life properly.” ~ Ronald Reagan
“Yesterday is but a dream, tomorrow but a vision. But today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness, and every tomorrow a vision of hope. Look well, therefore, to this day. Such is the salutation to the dawn.”
“The friends who grew up with you deserve a special respect- the ones who stuck by you shoulder to shoulder, in a time when nothing was certain, all life lay ahead, and every road led home.”
“Our business in life is not to get ahead of others, but to get ahead of ourselves -- to break our own records, to outstrip our yesterday by our today.”
“He needs to get his life in order. He's a good young man. He just needs to get his priorities straight. He's got a long life ahead of him and a lot of people that care about him. The only problem is he's got to help himself.”
“What lies behind us and what lies ahead of us are tiny matters compared to what lives within us.”
“Do not lose hold of your dreams or asprirations. For if you do, you may still exist but you have ceased to live.”
“There is no value in life except what you choose to place upon it and no happiness in any place except what you bring to it yourself.”
These quotes from some of the worlds great thinkers may shed some light.

Cooee Dr Sexy! No-one knows what's ahead in life! It's what makes it so interesting. Life would become totally boring. I like that saying "Expect the unexpected" for the very reason that it doesn't matter what you think is/may/could/should, you just never really KNOW. "Do everything like it is - and prepare for when it isn't". Forget who said it - but apt.

It's call an adventure, a journey, excitement, it's a puzzl, will you be responsible for what happens in life or will you let life form around you and not be responsible for it. When you think about it that way, isn't life exciting, gives me little chills when I think I can form my own world.

Why would you want to live in a world that you did know what was ahead?

funny that i was asking myself this question today, and found your question. if you are a christian and believe in God and salvation and after life, then we are living to prepare ourselves for a better place in "heaven" with God, where there would be no suffering and no pain and no hunger, none of those negative things. however, we have to prove that we deserve to be there with God, therefore, we have to lead a life acceptable to God.
now, if you don't believe in God and all that churchy stuff, then i think we're just living life day by day, existing until we die.

It's called hope. Mostly everyone has hopes and dreams for the future, no matter what they are, that keeps them motivated to go on.
